A
Student's Guide to System-wide Examination Procedures
Note to Students:
Please read these carefully
and ask your Campus Co-ordinator to clarify anything you do not
understand and be sure you are clear about all of the following
rules.
1.
Time: All exams will start on time. Students
who arrive late will not be admitted and they will not be allowed
special make-up exams. Students who miss the exam will
have to wait until the next time the exam is scheduled. Students
who fail to show up after scheduled breaks will also be required
to re- sit both sections of the exam.
2. Name:
Only the student identification number should appear on the exam
paper - write your ID number carefully on the
front page (and preferably every other page). Students must not
write their name anywhere on the exam paper unless the proctor tells
you.
3.
Leaving the Room: Once admitted to the exam room, the
minimum amount of time a student must spend in the exam room is
30 minutes. If the student leaves the room,
they will not be allowed to re-enter. During the last
15 minutes of the exam no student can leave - all remaining students
will leave together.
4. Students' Belongings:
Students may only use the materials provided
in the room. NOTHING else, including telephone pagers,
maybe brought into the examination rooms by the students.
5. Talking: No
talking is allowed. All student work is to be done in
silence.
6.
Questions: Students will raise their hands to get a Proctor's attention.
The Head Proctor will answer questions individually after the exam
starts.
7.
Cheating: Students accused of cheating will not be allowed to take
additional exams and may be immediately expelled from the college.
8. Total Time Allowed:
The Proctor will explain the exact time limits of the exam. All
program students in all colleges have exactly the same amount of
time to complete all exams. No extra time
will be allowed after the exam has officially started.
9. Finishing Up: No
exam materials are allowed to leave the room. When you
have finished the exam your proctor will collect all materials,
including scrap paper.
